Comprehensive Pilates Training Cosmos Pilates

Our next Comprehensive dates for Athens are out!

The Comprehensive Training is a 600hr diploma where students learn and understand the original Pilates Method (named Contrology) as Joe Pilates taught it.

The 4 modules consist of training on all pieces of apparatus as well as small props such as the neck stretcher, toe exerciser, magic circle and many more.

The completion of 600hr will be an evenly distributed mixture of teaching hours, workshops, practice and observation, and can be provided by agreement at Cosmos Pilates and other collaborating studios with Classical Pilates equipment or a studio of your choice.

Training Books will be given with detailed pictures and information of each exercise and throughout the training students will be given modifications and tools to develop a lesson depending on the individual's needs and the body in front of them.

The goal (or aim) and philosophy of this Comprehensive training program is to progress a teacher's ability to use their own instinct, knowledge and understanding of the system, hence why many Pilates teachers and advanced practitioners choose it.

Each training year, Keren will accept only a maximum participation of 12 students to create an intimate, friendly fair and supportive environment for learning.

Keren is a 2nd generation Pilates teacher, which is an important distinction of authenticity for the training that she provides and has studied under the watchful eye of her mentors Jay Grimes, Sandy Shimoda, Karen Frischmann and Ken Krech, to name a few. She has hosted and taught Classical Pilates workshops and Conventions for the last decade and has been working in the fitness industry for 25 years.

The tensatoner™ is brooke siler’s own invention inspired by the concepts behind two of joe pilates' lost pieces (the tens-o-meter & the magic square). the tensatoner™ is a small resistance device with unique proportions making it more versatile than any-sized magic circle for skeletal stability and increased powerhouse connectivity. in this workshop you will access the muscles of your matwork in a way you may never have felt before! using a selection of unique tensatoner™ exercises we will fire up the smaller targeted muscles that make the bigger movements feel “easier” and freer. this workshop creates a new awareness to make the whole mat feel different; more connected and accessible. “as small bricks are employed to build large buildings, so will the development of small muscles help develop large muscles. therefore, when all your muscles are properly developed you will naturally perform your work with minimum effort and maximum pleasure.” (joe pilates)

“cadi-mat™

as the name may suggest, this is a mat workout using the cadillac (or tower) in ways you may not have conceived of previously and getting into areas in ways no other apparatus can. the cadillac poles and bars, spring angles and resistance levels challenge your stability and mobility in new and exciting ways!

“pandiculation pilates™”

feel incredible while improving your pilates practice! preventing the build-up of muscular tension is critical to healthy movement, but releasing that tension doesn’t happen the way you might think. in this workshop brooke will teach you how to call upon your body’s natural pandicular response, using pilates mat &/or reformer workouts, to restore and/or gain more control over your muscles while resetting the level of tension in your muscles. learn why joe pilates called for this action from the body and how it’s a part of his “natural, normal movement” credo.

"the top ten: fine-tune your fundamentals"

in this 2-hour workout/workshop brooke will take you through the top 10 basics on the reformer, watching form and function. and then we’ll move to the interactive whys and wherefores of how to get the most out of your fabulous fundamentals (i.e. we’ll find the answers through the movement)!

“breakdown, breakthrough: the pilates system”

this workshop originated as “the client clinic” with teachers bringing their “problem clients” to brooke to see if she could help them through specific exercises or challenges in their work; however in this workshop you, the teacher, will become the client. by bringing a singular issue or exercise challenge to the fore, brooke will have the experimental opportunity to see if she can set you back on the road to success utilizing all pieces of pilates apparatus available in the studio to show how the system works as a whole to get you where you want to go.
